Could you speak a bit about this and how this manifests within your cases to, to shape interna-internationalization processes?

Elisa GambinoGUEST
I think this is very much connected to the firm level linkages because it is through these, um, projects, the multiple engagement with local actors, officials, political business elites, that the companies are able, or the individuals within the company are able to build, um, these networks, which is what we, uh, this, and this engagement, which is what we discussed in terms of individual and individualized action.

Elisa GambinoGUEST
Um, and this comes in very handy where, at times where perhaps Chinese lending is decreasing or there are other, uh, compounding crises.

Elisa GambinoGUEST
Uh, this project had been in the minds of, um, Kenyan officials for over twenty years.

And how much do you think of this is also specific to the conditions within the case, within the case studies you're looking at as well? How do these dynamics like translate to other African nations with maybe different domestic political econo- economic conditions? And also, what about outside of Africa and other regions, um, with a heavy presence of, um, Belt and Road investment?
