neither do we.
6:31
Totally.
6:31
Yeah.
6:31
Yeah.
6:32
I think, you know, one of the main reasons young adults drop out of church communities is not intellectual doubt.
6:36
Like I'm doubting what God's doing or I don't actually know.
6:39
It's actually isolation.
9:45
Yeah.
6:33
do.
6:34
It honestly becomes the goal.
6:37
To look.
6:39
Yeah, rather than just a part of them reading their Bible.
6:44
It's like, I want my Bible to be a symbol of my faith rather than just a part, a tool for my faith.
6:50
And I think it's so important that we go from performative.
6:54
Like, I need to check it off the list.
8:17
Yeah.
5:42
Yeah.
5:43
Like, maybe not some of, not every detail, but some of the questions, like, "Oh yeah, when I was in college, one of the things I thought about was how does the Holy Spirit, how... like, what is the role of the Holy Spirit in my life? Well, those are things that I got into the, I got into my Bible, I studied." Because what that shows your student is, "Hey, you have a hard question, just like I had a hard question, but I got to the bottom of it, and so can you."
10:05
in person.
10:05
I've done this as a pastor even.
10:06
I've, I've, I've had students ask me some theological questions that are very challenging, and I've, I've even said to them, "Hmm, you know, I, I don't know off the top of my head, but what do you think? Like, what, what, what would you think about this in scripture?" And, like, I've had some students come up with really good solutions and ideas where I've gone, "Wow, that's like actually pretty profound theologically."
