So take it away, EJ.
EJ SonGUEST
20:47
Hi, feel free to sit down if you'd like as well.
EJ SonGUEST
20:50
I know we've been standing for a while.
EJ SonGUEST
20:52
So I think I'd like to talk about my work starting off of desire.
EJ SonGUEST
20:56
And when they say suffering comes from desire, I really don't like that at all.
EJ SonGUEST
21:03
I genuinely believe that desire is a sole motivation and drive that we have and a site of inspiration.
EJ SonGUEST
21:09
like infinite production of energy um yeah but i think it's worthwhile to question why we desire the things we do and i think yeah that's extremely trivial and the pivoting that is necessary to pursue a life worthwhile um for oneself um Yeah, and these pots, they're not glazed and I've been trying to glaze them, trying to find the perfect glaze by making thousands of them, but I've realized there is no perfect glaze.
25:49
Yeah.
20:45
So take it away, EJ.

EJ SonGUEST
21:38
But I've realized there is no perfect glaze and in fact, I think I was adamant in glazing them because by doing so, it completely eliminates the infinite potentials and possibilities that they hold.
25:46
Can you tell us about the helium balloon in relation to that? Yeah.
PhilHOST

Tell me a little bit about
EJ SonGUEST
18:58
Fountain.
EJ SonGUEST
19:00
So Fountain is a installation where it's 12 toilets looking and centering each other.
EJ SonGUEST
19:11
And it's kind of shooting out streams of water like a bidet.
EJ SonGUEST
19:15
And as they shoot into the middle together, there's a huge jet, one jet stream of water just shooting upwards, I guess.
EJ SonGUEST
19:24
And it kind of departed from an original piece where it was just two toilets facing each other and shooting into each other.
EJ SonGUEST
19:31
And it kind of was made because kind of romanticized kind of bromance, as we call it.

How did that come about?
