So how much do the colleges possibly play a role in this?
11:40
Yes, I think the colleges have an important role to play in this.
11:43
Some of that has to do with the social nature of learning and the environment that the college frames for students.
11:50
Some colleges, as we all know, have been, uh, have developed reputations as party schools.
11:57
So obviously that sort of, uh, [laughs] environmental influence can definitely impact the way a student progresses through the, their education.
12:05
But I think the, the idea behind what I'm working, doing when I work with families is to say regardless of the college, uh, impact and the environment of that particular college, a student can take it upon himself or her- herself to find a path forward, even if, um, certain aspects of the college experience may not support that.
12:27
For example, the student can develop, and sometimes it could be a role play, but we can develop with students a comfort level for them to go to talk to professors so that they are getting help from the appropriate sources on campus that they might otherwise be a little bit afraid or intimidated to, to avail themselves of.

Apart from the financial aspect of the concept of finishing the degree, why else does a student benefit from earning that degree in four years?
