So you're back in Oz now? So you're staying in a motel, obviously, but with the rest of the French guys? Are you guys kind of separate at this point?
7:09
The rest of the French...

Well, the thing is, to be at Worlds as a French rider, you have to be... top 10 top 15 in the world yeah um so that kind of split it that kind of splits everything with like the guys that comes and the guy that goes you know like the guy that actually make it to worlds is like there's a few new guys every year and there's like guys that are there for 10 years and you know so yeah it's not easy because you know every season if you didn't make a Worlds final the year before if you didn't make a podium if you're not top 8 in the UCI ranking you have to do World Cup finals World Cup podiums if you want to go to Worlds which like and we know how BMX works like you can have the best preparation you can be in the best shape of your life and then you can just end up breaking a finger and then you can't race anymore and it's like yeah for for us uh it's really not we don't get many chances like we have to perform and we have no choice so it's that's what makes us so good as well it's like we're always under pressure to perform and uh And even like for myself, I was second in the UCI ranking, I think, when it crossed to December, January, which is the time where they pre-select riders, the top eight.

And I got a podium, so I knew I was qualified and I knew I didn't have to perform on the World Cup, so I would still go to Worlds, but...

I still did the best four first walk up of my life because I I know I kind of had to remember like how it felt to be left on the side, you know, like because because the thing is, they will not believe in you before you actually perform.
