By the end of this movie, it's abundantly clear they weren't.
19:44
Well, i agree with you i do like that by the end of this movie it is unclear whether or not they were lying like at first we thought oh these are people who are just like we've been from the point of view of matt and we're seeing him get these accusations thrown at him we're like oh my god poor matt it's like you know there's blood in the water and everything's coming to eat now and by the end you know you're like maybe he maybe it's just because we were seeing his point of view and he was never this great a guy to begin with this is going to lean into some of the stuff that i don't know if i liked or not okay i was talking about that club scene they referenced back to his father in the club scene named jimmy one nut which ridiculous but sure did you see he turns into jimmy one nut for one second who jimmy one nut was Is it Aaron Paul? Yeah, it's Aaron Paul.
20:28
Yeah.
20:29
And I'm like, they did not have Aaron Paul come in for this two second cameo, which means to me, did they have a lot of backstory of maybe seeing Matt growing up, getting abused, maybe seeing Matt take that out on other people, maybe sort of delving into that more.
20:43
Now, do I want an extra 30 minutes of this movie? Probably not.
20:46
I think it was a great length for what it was because if you were going to add time, I'd probably maybe see his relationship with Dr. Kor become a little more toxic on his end at least.
20:55
Although I really liked that too.
23:50
But the journey of his character in terms of... his all of the people around him using this incident to better themselves right so corey is threatened by zabo and he's the one who digs up all the friends for the character witnesses and then france fitzpatrick who's his manager who then becomes his power of attorney spends all of his money and they use the opportunity to then side themselves with zabo leading to Matt Hagen finding out all these people have wronged me, and this starts his vengeful path of becoming a villain, and things initially happening accidentally because of the way in which the nanites initially are healing, but when he's experiencing high amounts of stress, they're sort of not holding himself together, leading to the overdose of them, which is what allows for Matt to become quite literally superhuman.
