i i have those thoughts as well uh obviously i think everyone does but um yeah it's it's all the same really anything anything like that is you just have to learn how to how to deal with it and that's what i think a lot of golf comes down to is it's not who has the most ability uh well it obviously does that to get to the highest level you need to have and a ridiculous ability, but it's even at like, like, especially at like amateur Irish golf is you don't actually have to, like, there's such a wide range of abilities that perform quite similarly, which sounds bad a little bit, if you know what I mean.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
But it's just some people, their mental game is so strong and it carries them so well.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
And I found myself kind of being in the other end of the spectrum where I have a lot of ability for how I was playing, I suppose.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
head I suppose and dealing with emotions and I get quite angry and I get quite caught up and I wasn't pulling very I I tend to get quite uh technical about things and I think I've gotten a lot better at almost bridging the gap between like my practice and playing uh tournament golf and stuff like that because I don't yeah I don't think I've gotten that much better at golf over the last three years I well I take that back I've gotten much better but uh I've gotten much more of a benefit from my mental game than I have with my physical game at getting better and helping myself win these championships and being in contention because like yeah playing like my last year of boys golf I think I like I was we were talking about it today actually we were laughing like I was our fifth man on our Fred Daly team for quite a little bit of time in my final year of boys golf which was only two years ago like I went back up to like 2.5 handicap or something and I was going like what am I doing here you know like I'm awful that's what I was telling myself and I played all the boys events and I'd make the cut but I'd never be able to kind of push into even like I'd come 30th all the time and stuff and I was going I'd feel like I come off the golf course and I go I shouldn't have shot that score and I think it always it's always in your head and golf is such a mental game and there's so many books on it obviously because that's all the best players in the world and anyone who does anything in this sport you have to be so mentally strong and if you're not you're you're not going to do anything

So i- in your view, what led to the breakdown of the negotiations this time with the APL?

Dylan HolmesGUEST
APL?I think, like, it's complicated, but I think at the end of the day, the, the players have such high aspirations for the A-Leagues, both the A-League men and the A-League women.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
And, and on the women's side, like, we're seeing leagues around the world, uh, exploding.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
And, and here we don't feel like enough is being done to realize the potential that we believe is in the A-League women's in Australia.

Dylan HolmesGUEST
And I think the CBA was a, a bit of a, a sticking point because, you know, we had just released the Ready for Takeoff report.

But I guess on that topic, the, the sort of the final question for you is, what do you think is required from here for professional women's football in Australia to, to reach this next stage? What needs to change here for us to move in the direction that Ready for Takeoff outlined so well?
