And tell us about the volunteer fire service you work for.
4:50
So I'm with Malahide Fire Services.
4:52
I've been there for 14 and a half years, just over.
4:57
So I started there actually a little bit longer as a junior firefighter when I was in high school.
5:01
So Malahide had a program where they offered for students that were 16 to 18, if they wanted to come out and basically try to spark some interest and try to get some recruitment.
5:13
So I joined that when I was 16, was able to attend their meeting nights, participate in some low-level training and just wash the trucks help out around the station do extra things that they were doing is a good way for me to get my volunteer hours for high school at the time and my dad who was also a firefighter my dad was a professional firefighter for the city of Guelph so I watched him in the fire department all growing up and he kind of pushed me in that direction a little bit and Um, we found out about this program, so kind of signed me up and I went there from 16 to 18, obviously loved it, got to meet all the guys and participate in some of the training that I could and loved it.
5:52
So then when I was 18, I got on as an actual volunteer and as a full member, and then I went through their training program during my recruit year and was able to start going to calls.
