What's your group's perspective on what has happened in terms of the effort to bring these ICE agents who took away these folks' lives accountable?
7:05
Yes, I want to take a moment to also, since it's the one-year anniversary of Silberio's Villegas-Gorcia's life who was taken in Chicago, I believe this was one, if not the first person that died at the hands of ICE.
7:23
And following that event, there was also the shootings of the woman in Chicago who was shot five times.
7:31
Luckily, did not lose her life in the process.
7:33
But we've seen repeatedly how ICE has really made very... arbitrary decisions often informed by racial profiling to harm our communities and i think in in the events of alex preddy and renee goode as you mentioned we just have seen repeated efforts to try to obstruct the justice rule of law process to ensure that there is a independent investigation that can be led by the state not by the federal government who is the one perpetrating the alleged crime.
8:11
So for us, what does accountability look like? It's having access to that information and having a third party or the states in which these actions are happening to be able to investigate what really happened.
8:27
Can we get body camera footage? Can we get communication that is being shared internally to ICE officers? Because what we have heard repeatedly is they're just following orders.
10:46
But this will have ripple effects all across this nation.

Yes, I want to take a moment to also, since it's the one-year anniversary of Silveiro Villegas-Garcia's life who was taken in Chicago, I believe this was one, if not the first, person that died at the hands of ICE.

Can you talk about what's happening in your city?
15:05
Yes, thank you for inviting me.
15:07
In the city and surrounding suburbs, there is a lot of palpable fear and anxiety among families.
15:13
As you just said, there was over 1,100 ICE arrests across the country, and we still don't know about how many of those were from Chicago.
15:21
What we have heard from families is that many are choosing to stay home.
15:25
Many are choosing to not send their kids to school.
15:27
Several businesses are reporting that they're seeing less business cases.

10 MINS LATER

Dulce, how have you seen the elected officials in Chicago responding to this crisis, especially considering that Trump's borders are our home and has actually said of both the governor and the mayor that they suck and if they try to impede his work, that he could prosecute them?
