But I was so used to building fires on the east coast where all the wood is, like, wet.
0:06
And, uh, it was so dry out there that I built a fire probably this big, and I went to light it, and a fireball shot up.
0:17
Like Burning Man.
0:18
Yeah, like literally Burning Man.
0:19
Yeah, I had my face painted.
0:22
It shot up, and so I spent the next, like, 20 minutes trying to contain this fire.
3:56
Was that bittersweet for you?
3:57
It was totally bittersweet.
4:24
Was that bittersweet for you?
4:25
It was totally bittersweet.
4:26
I mean, I... leading up to, it was, we'd spent seven years on that show and those were my best friends.
4:32
And I felt the past, the last couple months of filming, I was, I thought I was fine.
4:38
I thought I was a sociopath.
4:39
I was like, I feel nothing.
4:40
I'm ready to get out of here.
4:57
okay? Yeah,
4:30
It's a deep cut.
4:33
Yeah, definitely.
4:34
I mean, I think when you have a character that changes that much, there are a lot of challenges that come with it.
4:44
But I think ultimately a writer's got to a point where it felt like a true resolution with Rafe and his family and who he is as a man and how he sees himself.
4:56
The entire time he's been on this journey of just searching for a sense of love and connection with people.
5:04
And I think by the end, he truly gets there.
7:07
I didn't expect that at
7:10
all.
20:56
The guy, yeah, yeah.
20:57
The best part about it is, you know, they did leave us with, you know, a couple cases of beer, and they didn't tell me that I had a screen test with cameras the next morning.
22:54
We are back now with two stars who are teaming up with some true Hollywood icons.
22:58
SNL alum Will Forte and Lana Condor from the To All The Boys I've Loved Before franchise are joining forces with the Looney Tunes themselves in the new comedy Coyote vs. Acme.
29:52
Wow.
29:53
And I was like, "Oh, I'm gonna find a little campsite near the Grand Canyon." And, uh, I was so used to, [laughs] I was so used to building fires.
30:01
I w- I, we grew up going camping and stuff as kids, but I was so used to building fires on the East Coast where all the wood is, like, wet.

5 MINS LATER

35:15
Uh, how do we describe the, uh, the series?
35:18
Uh, well, the series starts out with, uh, with two kids, uh, uh, who come from, uh, a crime family background with my character, Cary, and Anya's character, Lucky.
35:29
And, uh, they've just gotten away with a lot of money, and they're about to go on the run.
32:00
... tell folks a little bit more about your character that you play.
32:03
Well, I mean, you meet, you meet these two characters, Carrie and Lucky, in the beginning of the series, uh, you know, episode one, and then within the first 15 minutes my character is, has disappeared.
32:14
Um, so we follow the perspective of Lucky for the rest of the series, or at least up until, till episode four, trying to track me down.
32:24
Yeah.
32:51
What was it like working with her?
32:54
I mean, uh, i- incredibly nerve-wracking.
32:56
I mean, I, I worked with her a couple days and Annette is, is a legend in her own regard.
33:01
She's amazing.

And when I read the book, I think I immediately knew her and felt that I had something to contribute to it, and it's just been the most wonderful collaborative ride.
5:10
Everything is going according to plan.
5:13
[tense music] [alarm beeping]

6:03
I only have the most lovely things to say about it.
6:06
Everyone felt so collaborative and so open, and the pace was so fast, but I think everyone leaned into it, and it brought an energy to the show and these characters that I think was needed.
6:16
Yeah.

1:35
Thank you.
1:36
Kevin Costner joins us.
1:37
Thank you so much.
1:38
Thank you.
3:46
And Drew, when you come onto a project like this and you start reading through the scripts, knowing that it's based on a book and a novel, is that something that you actually go and seek out? Or is it just more important to focus on what was actually written on the page in front of you?
4:00
No, of course.
4:02
Any bit of information that I can get my hands on, I try to.
4:06
I think it's helpful.
