Yeah, so I did this crazy thing about four years ago, writing The Lost History of Tennessee Whiskey.

And while writing The Lost History of Tennessee Whiskey, I started having opinions about bourbon and I was trying to figure out how to talk about it.

From a historical standpoint, from apples to apples, the 1820s, 1830s, 1840s.

And I started to realize that there really isn't a lot written about that time period in Bourbon's history.

It kind of gets bounced over and then everything comes after the Civil War.

So... uh i had just done the research for the chicken cock brand and i knew that that came out of paris kentucky bourbon county and was interested to find that there were more distilling names in that county than i anticipated there would be because the the myth has been kind of built up that there was this big county called bourbon county it was a fifth of the state and And that people so, you know, had a connection in all the counties that got carved out of it that they kept calling things.
