It
8:53
is late summer.
8:54
So this is a very distinct season that is unique in Chinese medicine that many of us perhaps aren't aware of.
9:00
I wasn't aware of it before I found this work.
9:03
and it is this time of year it actually just started this week they say it's usually around like august 17th um that week starting in in that range and it is about a month it's a short season and whereas the other seasons are either um in like have an incline in energies young rising or declining in energy like fall and winter the energy is going down this is neutral it's a center point so it's just a few weeks and uh some will say also this this quality comes in between seasons so say between winter and spring that season sometimes that transition is hard and they will say to bring in the qualities of the earth element because it's nourishing and it helps us shift to the next season so in terms of the climate a lot of people are probably seeing it already it's more damp and that's the quality of the climate for earth element is dampness the organs are the spleen and stomach spleen also includes pancreas.
10:07
We talk a little bit more Western side of things like pancreas, but they work together, spleen and pancreas.
10:13
And the pancreas does not, and spleen, they are aggravated by that damp climate and dampness in the body.

12 MINS LATER

22:31
A few
3:35
We're in the summer season.
3:37
summer season and this is probably the last time we'll talk about the summer season because then we move into what's called late summer.
3:44
It's very unique in Chinese medicine and the reason we do talk about the seasons is because we can work those meridians very nicely in the seasons moving through the year and the meridians flow in the fascia.
3:56
So this is one of our summer organs.
3:59
It's called Sanjiao.
4:01
So we have four organs, heart, pericardium, Sanjiao, and small intestine.
4:07
And San Zhao is not known in Western medicine.
5:34
an energy
2:32
So that was spring and you need the wood element to build fire, which is summer.
2:38
Okay.
2:39
Each season supports the next, which is a really interesting concept that helped me understand, for instance, in the fall, why, um, leading into the fall, healthy digestion system will really support your immunity as you go into the fall.
2:53
We can talk about that one later.
2:55
So it's really, it's such a holistic system.
2:58
So the fire element has four organs and the primary ones we hear the most are heart and small intestine.
3:05
They're the balancing organs.
4:36
Yeah.
3:23
You can validate this for me.
3:26
Yes, yes.
3:27
And I think women are very, I think women in general are very in tune with their interoception, what's happening within their bodies.
3:36
And Western medicine, unfortunately, has not connected the dots with energy in the body, with Chinese medicine, which was founded thousands of years ago.
3:50
And it's so immensely intelligent and just brilliant but it also relates to the fascia and what western medicine hasn't really understood well is the fascia and fascia experts will say this and this is why often we go to a practitioner A physical therapist.
4:11
We go to a doctor.
4:12
We go to any kind of like physiotherapy or anything.
