As you- you've indicated, we have a strategic plan that helps us sort of say, "Well, what do we think we can do over the next, you know, three or five years?" So when you look back, Doris, over the past few years of volunteering with Celiac Canada, what makes you proud? What are accomplishments that really stand out for you?
8:50
Oh, there's many, and really, our success often comes from the work of the whole community, so a combination of the Celiac Canada staff, the many volunteers, including professional volunteers, our donors who fund our work, and researchers who advance knowledge and understanding.
9:11
But some specific examples include obtaining the health coverage in Ontario for celiac blood testing.
9:20
That took really more than 10 years of persistence and advocacy by staff and volunteers, and we're absolutely delighted in the past, uh, few years to have that confirmed and free, and for sure that should increase diagnosis rates or help to increase diagnosis rates.
9:40
I think another accomplishment is the growth in our free education, our newly diagnosed pathway to help people who are newly diagnosed navigate all the learning associated with that.
9:53
Another example is our seniors program, which we piloted this last year, which provides peer support to seniors and helps them remain h- as healthy as possible and stay in their homes longer.
10:09
We've had an incredible growth in advocacy over the time that I've been on the board, and there was a recent Parliament Hill Day where 34 MPs and one senator and related staff attended, which is just incredible, and shows how much significance is being given to this disease.
14:29
And so what are some of the victories that you see the community may not realize has happened because of the collective advocacy?
