What are your thoughts when it comes to MHJ? I'm interested to hear what you think.
25:36
Yeah, I think it's such a delicate balance between the Cardinals wanting to do what they think is best in a football game and kind of having a player that everybody sees as so talented with so much potential.
25:48
I don't want to say wasted, but for lack of better terms, it feels like he's on the sideline for a lot of the time.
25:53
And unfortunately, with the guy with the last name Harrison, with him being the number four overall, pick not only are people like you and i talking about the zespo everybody naturally seems to be talking about it too and it's gotten to a point where teams are now calling on the availability of marvin harrison jr after he spent three weeks in michael for his offense and he's largely been a bystander he's been a non-factor and i i think You had said the best before you guys went to the break.
26:17
Sometimes you just need to look at a guy like Michael Thor or Jacoby Brissett and say, give me the you know what ball.
26:22
Unfortunately, I don't think Marvin Harrison Jr.'s personality allows him to do that.
26:26
I think he's very much a team first guy.

29:14
Is this a get-right game or is this a trap game for the Cardinals?
0:50
Through three games, what is the, what is the, uh, biggest concern you have for the Arizona Cardinals?
0:55
[sighs] I, I think you hit the nail on the head whenever you talked about the pass rush.
0:59
And guys, this, this is a, an outside linebacker's room that was untouched going through the off-season, right? I think you, me, and everybody else had pass rushers one of the team's top needs.
1:09
And Monte Austin Ford and company decided to, to opt for upgrading other positions through the off-season.
1:15
And by doing that, you're gambling on a lot of those guys in the room taking a step up.
1:18
And when, when you look at guys with Josh Sweat and everybody else underneath him, like kind of we know what they are just in terms of pass rusher.
1:26
I know Jordan Burch is entering his second year.
4:20
Mm-hmm.

22:32
I think we all, having watched this team for as long as we have and, and being in Arizona, always have a little bit of that reservation where we're like, "Ah, can I really buy in?" Do you feel like you can kinda let your guard down a little bit, or do you have to see it repeated again on Sunday against the Seahawks?
22:52
Yeah, I think Sunday's gonna be a, a massive test, and that's not a slight to the Los Angeles Chargers at all.
22:57
But you got the defending Super Bowl champions walking into your room.
23:01
And while, uh, you know, Sam Darnold's probably not playing, you still have a very, very elite defense and a defensive mastermind in Mike McDonald coming through.
23:09
I really wanna see how Mike LaFleur's offense kind of, like, matches up to that test.
23:12
And, uh, the good news for Cardinals fans is that Mike LaFleur is extremely familiar with Mike McDonald, thanks to his prior time spent in the NFC West, so it's not like he's walking into this thing completely blinded.
23:22
It is still week two, and, and for, for those who are a little bit worried or skeptical, the Cardinals barely lost to the Seahawks of last year early in the season on, on a game-losing field goal.
EspoHOST
26:09
You look at the offensive side of the ball, were you happy with, uh, the way the backfield was handled, that distribution of carries? And do you think it's gonna be similar to what we see over the next handful of weeks?
EspoHOST
26:34

26:54
yeah i think sun is going to be a massive test and that's not a slight to the los angeles charges at all but you got the defending super bowl champions walking into your room and while uh you know sam donald's probably not playing you still have a very very elite defense and a defensive mastermind and mike mcdonald coming through i really want to see how michael four's offense kind of like matches up to that tested uh the good news for cardinals fans is that michael four is extremely familiar with mike mcdonald thanks to his prior time spent in the nfc west so it's not like he's walking into this and completely blinded It is still week two.

And for those who are a little bit worried or skeptical, the Cardinals barely lost to the Seahawks of last year early in the season on the game losing field goal.
27:32
It's not as if these teams are worlds apart, despite what that second matchup in Seattle was.
27:37
So I'm very, very excited to see what Michael Floyd can do to see if he can answer the bell yet again.
27:42
And now that we have a week under his system, what little adjustments can be made? What wrinkles can be thrown into it? offense what mistakes can be corrected and how good this can is carter's offense be but also i'm going to flip that to the defensive side of the ball espo uh 14 points against a charger's offense that had justin herbert and mike mcdannell calling the plays i think anybody would have taken that if you pulled people before the game so i think the biggest question mark for the cardinals was your defense and they ended up kind of being an unexpected hero

31:29
Were you happy with the way the backfield was handled, that distribution of carries? And do you think it's going to be similar to what we see over the next handful of weeks?
31:40
do i do think it'll be a little bit similar and i i think a little bit of that was kind of jeremiah love returning his way back from a high angle sprain i think a little bit also was a late game scenario where tyler alger is that perfect kind of like puzzle piece to move in uh put into the backfield when hey we got six minutes left on the clock like let's wear these guys out let's get some minutes off the clock let's really try to squeeze it Tyler Algier, that's what he was brought here to do is to be that tough fourth quarter kind of like change of pace back behind ultimately Jeremiah Love after they drafted him.
26:55
What's the level of confidence with him, and how do you see this all playing out during the season?
27:00
Yeah, Jacoby Brissett returning.
27:01
Obviously, there's a big deal made about the contract situation slash holdout that he had.
27:06
But you see what Jacoby Brissett means to these guys.
27:10
I mean, he got Trey Bigbride, the 1,000-yard campaign last year in 2025.
27:14
He got Michael Wilson 1,000 yards last year.
27:16
And just talking to coaches, talking to people in the building, and talking to players, they are very legitimately excited about to have Jacoby Bursette kind of back in the saddle.
28:58
Is it going to be a different look for this team?
EspoHOST
25:14
What do you think in terms of, uh, the excitement level to see Jeremiah Love step on the field for the first time in that Cardinals uniform, and what this kid's gonna bring based on what you saw, uh, in training camp so far?
25:26
Yeah, I, I was one of the very vocal people ahead of the draft that said the Cardinals should not have drafted Jeremiah Love, uh, for numerous reasons, whether it be money, team building, whatever it might be.
25:36
And I'll never forget being at the first rookie minicamp practice and going, "Oh, okay.
25:41
That, that's what a number three overall pick looks like.
25:43
That's what a playmaker at the NFL level looks like." I'll eat my crow right then and there, and he seems to have only gotten better as training camp had progressed, and he very much, whether it be through the run or the passing attack, looks like the weapons the Cardinals drafted him to be at number three.
25:57
Th- I think they looked at him far beyond just a running back, but just a overall playmaker, and that's exactly what a new head coach in Mike LaFleur needs heading to his first season.
26:06
Now, whatever comes to the expectations tonight, I just wanna see him emerge healthy.
EspoHOST
29:37
Who stood out to you in training camp outside of some of the guys we've talked about?
5:33
What's your overall kind of feel of this team going into its first training camp under LaFleur?
5:37
LaFleur?Yeah, I think it was an ugly but necessary off-season.
5:41
I, I really, really do.
5:42
I think it would have been unwise for the Cardinals to try to trick themselves into thinking that they could, like, quickly turn this thing around.
5:49
Um, you know, you talk about a divorce.
5:50
The Cardinals got the house from Kyler Murray, but now they, they need to rebuild it and they start, you know, putting investments into it.
5:56
Um, Kyler Murray, after seven years, it feels like it, it's just, it is what it is, and we saw highs, we saw lows.

7 MINS LATER

12:43
And I, I, I mean, Donny, I just wanna give you your chance to react to this, 'cause, uh, and then I'll, then I'll kinda jump into it.
6:12
But what is LaFleur's vision for this team as he steps onto the sideline in his first year in Arizona?
6:20
Yeah, I think there's kind of an understanding that the Cardinals aren't planning a Super Bowl parade this year.
6:27
As much as teams want to say they're going to try to win every game, they certainly are.
6:31
It's not like, for lack of effort, they're not going to be in the big game on Valentine's Day next year, but I think there's a general consensus of, hey, you know, like we're kind of hitting the rebuild button here a little bit.
6:42
We just got rid of our franchise quarterback.
6:44
A lot of injuries happened last year.
6:45
Like, let's just let's get this thing going.

10 MINS LATER

16:19
But Michael Wilson, on the other hand, seems to maybe have surged at the end of last season and kind of made a little bit more of a mark than maybe people thought.
27:59
Do you feel like this is a legit quarterback competition, like where it stands now or it could evolve into one?
28:05
I think the door's somewhat open for it.
28:07
I, I really, really do, and this is coming from somebody who's pretty adamant that whenever Jacoby Brissett gets all of his contract stuff figured out, like he's the quarterback one.
28:14
You know, that's something he's reportedly been told throughout the off-season.
28:17
And I do think in terms of giving team the best chance to win in 2026, it is going to be Jacoby.
28:22
However, um, I think you look at the schedule and you look at how kind of like last year played out, if it plays out in a similar role where the Cardinals are kind of out of the playoff picture probably a bit earlier, um, than some anticipated, especially with the strong schedule, um, the Cardinals very much going to want to get a look at, at their guy in Carson Beck out of a big, big 2027 off-season that could bring a franchise quarterback in in a multitude of ways, whether it be free agency, trade, or the NFL draft.
28:48
Um, I do think if they are somewhat out of the playoff picture towards the end of the season, they are going to throw Carson Beck in there because they need to have as much information on Beck as possible before making a franchise-altering decision.
33:51
And I think that's, that's just 100% fact.
