When you're looking at the project requests, how do you differentiate the two?
2:06
Part of it starts before we receive in the project requests is that we make it clear to any of the departments or service areas that it is about needs and not a wish list, and so that they're purposely being careful about what they request and that they already are understanding that it is about the needs and that there's limited funding each year.
2:25
So it's helpful with they...
2:27
when they already have that understanding so then when we do receive the requests, it means that typically there's fewer cuts or movements needed.
2:34
There are certainly still cuts and movements needed, um, because we typically do receive more requests in than we can either afford based off of the reserve amounts that we have or the debt levels that we're able to take on for each year of the six years.
2:49
So we do have to look at the most priorities, how they meet with the master plan, and if they meet the criteria needed to be part of the capital improvements plan.

7 MINS LATER

Any initial feedback from the meeting on the 7th? Was there anything, any questions that surprised you? Any projects that, that you saw a focus on? Any priorities? I know it was just the beginning and they, they haven't had a ton of time to review prior to that meeting, but anything that jump out to you the other night?
10:07
I think definitely the four projects that are waiting on congressionally designated spending, um, were a big topic of conversation.
