Do you think more people will get into the sport because of it? We
10:14
sort of hope.
10:16
We do know that the youth programs that they're introducing, a youth pheasant hunt, weeks that are dedicated to just kids and squirrels and rabbits and all that kind of stuff, and the youth doe season that is in the middle of October, we see that that's increasing the number of younger hunters.
10:35
What's happening in Pennsylvania is, like every other organization, it's aging out.
10:40
The people that grew up hunting as a lifestyle are dying off, and they're just getting older.
10:48
So we have to always be proactive in getting the younger kids...
10:52
At the same time, so is soccer.
11:13
Yeah, the
13:11
Do you think, so we have Sunday hunting for the first time this year.
13:14
So the first time, we had Sunday hunting for choice weekends, right? The end of the archery season, the bear season.
13:22
But now, any season, so squirrels started on September 12th.
13:26
September 13th was a Sunday that was in.
13:29
All the Sundays, if you're hunting squirrels, all the Sundays until I think that season ends in February.
13:35
Archery season, same thing.
13:37
Small game season, rabbits, pheasants, everything.
14:45
That's right.
4:04
Yeah, they loved the scenery there.
4:08
So it's the YMCA camp, right? Yeah.
4:12
Pennsylvania Troop P Camp Cadet adopted that, so they do their Camp Cadet week there.
4:17
I used to be on that board of directors.
4:20
But you used the word Halloween.
4:22
I got to put a flag up.
4:24
I was walking around Walmart and Sam's Club.
5:47
October, yep.
5:46
And it was held at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds.
5:48
Yes.
5:49
So the People of the Eastern Door is a collection of the tribes of northeastern Pennsylvania and some of the northeastern United States.
6:00
And what I found fascinating is they are constantly trying to break the reputation they have of, you know, woo woo woo.
6:11
dancing around.
6:13
They dance, but everything's symbolic.
6:15
But they want people to know they're not on horseback chasing cowboys.
10:13
Yeah.
12:23
You have to keep saying it over and over and over again.
12:26
It, it is exciting.
12:26
I don't care what town you live in, I don't care what celebration you're going to, 250 years, you know, I, I'm, I'm up there in age.
12:35
I'm not gonna see this again.
12:36
We're not gonna have another celebration like this.
12:39
Um, my kids maybe will see the 300th, right? Or my grandkids.
12:44
Uh, so it's an exciting time in, in NEPA.
14:33
Yes.
