Perhaps before we go a little bit further, perhaps Dom, it might be useful for you to tell us from your perspective, what's changing and why in the current landscape?

Yeah, so in the complaints landscape, the big change for us is we're bringing in a new program called Data Protection Transformation.

And this is like a couple of years of work with people, and this has been designed by people that are in the complaints function.

And I think we want the same thing as what the people that are perhaps critical of this approach want, and that is for the ICO to be a more effective, better regulator, and to be able to tackle some of the most challenging, difficult cases that come through to us.

And there was an acknowledgement that we're never going to have infinite resource and we need to be more strategic and we need to make sure that the cases where we can have the biggest impact get seen to and that actually we look to do more with them and be more effective.

So we went about designing a sort of threshold, sorry, not threshold, a triaging system whereby...

Cases used to come in and it was just gone as a date order thing.

We have

But how was it going to some of these grounds? What ones stood out for you? I

think a lot of us would say that our experiences of them were impacted by whether it was a a press box that was behind glass because that's something that we're not used to in Europe, especially in England.

But a lot of these stadiums, you know, they're in such hot places that they want the press to have a nice experience and not sort of feel sweltering heat.

And so the journalists often are behind plated glass, often sound glass, proofed glass, which I don't love hugely because it makes it difficult to understand the atmosphere, you know, in an air conditioned room, which, you know, is well intended, but doesn't feel very football, doesn't feel very World Cup.

And so that was my experience in Dallas against Croatia.

That was my experience against Panama in New York.

I was in sort of a well, a lot of us, the UK media, we're in sort of overflow press seating out in the open for the final between Spain and Argentina, which I, you know, even though it's warm and you feel that, you know, you feel like you might faint, I do prefer that.

yeah yeah well it it works for them to a to a certain extent um i saw you had a i don't want to say an altercation um but in in your uh press conference um with with thomas or you're part of the press conference and and i was too cool a uh a question uh he didn't take

Are they calling for his head, Dom?

Um, there will be England fans, there are England fans who are calling for his head.

Um, my understanding is that he will stay on, uh, and lead them into Euro 2028, which, uh, for which England, if they qualify, you'd suspect that they will, um, would be one of the host nations because it's being held in England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland.

And so they would be, you know, un- unashamedly favorites and unavoidably favorites for that tournament.

You know, they, they have gone through so much of this tournament telling themselves that they're underdogs.

You know, I think that that's what got them through the round of 16 against Mexico.

They convinced themselves that going to the Azteca in the, in that altitude w- they were the underdogs.

Yeah
