So tell us about some of your adventures.

Well, it was really the beginning of 1963.

My very first flight was to Jakarta.

It was a two-week trip.

Um, flying out of San Francisco, you had the vast Pacific Ocean.

So we flew all the way through to Jakarta, through the Far East, down to Australia, and then polar flights to London.

So I was able to get home to buy my Italian shoes, have my hair cut at Vidal Sassoon's, uh, see my parents.

Looking back at that incredible period of time, what do you want listeners to know about that time, and why is this history important?
