Why does a teacher's own feelings and experiences leak into what they do in the classroom? And what's a money belief that you had to unlearn before you could teach this honestly?
22:33
Yeah, that's a great question.
22:34
It comes out in little moments, you know, our beliefs.

So when a student says, you know, if you say, okay, what's a SMART goal? Let's say a teacher asks that, you know, in a lesson, what's a SMART goal that you have? And a student says, I want a million dollars, which every student says that.
22:48
But a student says, I want a million dollars.
22:50
And you scoff and you're like, good luck, right? Or a kid, another kid one time said, I want $10,000 by summer.

For our students, I talk to them about credit and credit scores, credit cards, credit reports, all of that kind of stuff, because if we can get to them prior to making big decisions in their life that are gonna impact them for 20, 30, 40 years, and possibly not get them into debt, and so that they have to kind of climb out of holes, then we need to do that earlier and just make them aware, make them informed about those things as soon as we can.

I want you to look up today's price of one single Bitcoin, and I want you to find out how much those pizzas would cost today.
26:06
So I show my gas bill, my electric bill, my, my food, my grocery list, the whole thing.
26:11
And they're like, "Whoa," it's like, "You spend $500 a month on groceries?" And I'm like, "Yeah."

"And that's why I tell him to turn off the lights in the, in, in the room when he leaves." I have parents telling me, asking me about opening Van- a Vanguard account or Fidelity or E-Trade, you know, whatever the, the companies are, they wanna come.
26:45
I've had parents come in.
