What is the right level of federal immigration enforcement in your mind, Diana?

So we need to have a comprehensive immigration policy.

I have felt that way for a long time.

What that means is for people who have been here for a long time, and who have been following the laws, they've actually been paying taxes, even though they don't get anything back because they're not eligible for federal benefits, they should be given an opportunity to apply for permanent status, either citizenship or get in a... green card or something.

And their kids, the DACA recipients, should be able to become U.S. citizens.

And then we need to look at the way we have our visa system set up so that workers who just want to come in and work, whether it's high tech, whether it's in agriculture or other important industries, should be able to go back and forth legally and not have to do that.

I've thought that for many, many years.

And I want to know if you think a tenure like yours is what the founding fathers envisioned.

How do you, you know, as a leader, how are you gonna try to, you know, kind of calm the system down and calm your committee members down? How are some ways that you can do that?

Yeah, I think I'm fortunate.

I think part of it is because there's this tremendous there's this tremendous pressure on members to get that little, you know, that little click.

And so people I think it has caused a very performative response.

You know, wait, but also also a lot that there has been a loss of decorum on the part of the Trump administration.

I've been watching some of those hearings over in the Senate where RFK Jr., Secretary Kennedy came in.

And he was screaming at the senators, and the senators were screaming at him.

The restlessness within the activist group on the Democratic side, so the rise of the progressive, you know, take the castle kind of mentality.
