One of the biggest changes in the electricity system that needs to happen is the realization that that the future system cannot be designed centrally.

For the past 100 years of the electricity grids, all decisions were made centrally.

Where do we build generation? Where do we build transmission? Where can you add more load onto it? What kind of load you can add? The biggest change we're going through is the top-down approach is becoming bottom-up.
