To answer your question, We have to look into how the story of Bletchley Park came into the public domain in the first place.

And I think if you talk to people in Poland, they're a bit, if you like, flabbergasted about this because they'd always assumed, having grown up in a communist environment, that Britain was a sort of completely open society and there was no such thing as an official secret.

So to learn that people in Britain had no clue about Bletchley Park, had no clue that there was even such a thing as code-breaking during World War II, and that that suddenly burst on the scene in the late 1970s, comes as a sort of a bit of a revelation to Polish people in particular.

But it's because of that sort of bursting onto the scene thing piece of history that the story of Bletchley Park got written by those who were around in the 1970s and were able to tell the story as they remembered it.
