Talk a little bit more about how you came to know Walter personally and how you ended up working alongside him.
7:04
Yeah, yeah.
7:05
So I'm actually a graduate of a therapeutic community in Utah and met one of the original co-founders.
7:14
And they were looking to get somebody with more lived experience running the academy and reached out to me.
7:23
And the very first time I met Walter was there at his garage where he had his collection of cars and he did his woodworking, sitting there.
7:32
And they're talking about it.
7:33
And I remember he sat down and he looked at me and he said, you know, do you think you have the backbone to do this? Do you think you have the ability to do this? And so Walter was, you know, he challenged my thought process a lot.
11:02
Is there a way people listening can honor Walter?
26:12
I think there were some changes in some of the deer management units, but any significant changes, whether it's the price of a license or any procedural changes or policy changes when it comes to either the bowhunts or the gun deer season in Wisconsin?
26:26
Yeah, as far as like a structural change, it's a pretty straightforward year, so no changes in any deer management units.
26:33
Um, the only two kind of major, um, policy or rule revisions this year.
26:40
Um, the first one has to do with our gun deer hunt for hunters with disabilities that takes place, um, in mid October.
26:47
Um, that year, this year is running from October 3rd to the 11th, but new this year.
26:53
Um, and after a lot of feedback from, uh, hunters that take, uh, part in that hunt.
26:59
They felt that we're asking for a statewide opportunity during the youth hunt weekend.
28:56
From what you do, your perspective as sort of the interim deer program specialist, how concerned are you about this concern in sort of the deer herd?
14:31
down later on.
14:31
Yeah, he did.
14:33
At that point in time...
14:35
Because again, like I think we're both under the, like, like you said earlier, we were both under the estimation.
14:41
We thought Cole Ballard was going to be the starter.
14:43
I think a lot of that was derived from the beginning of fall camp when all indicators were that Cole Ballard was leading the QB one race, I think early in camp.
14:52
And so I wonder if that came, the comment from Lance Leipold came from a place of, Hey, if we think Cole is going to be the starter, then, Isaiah is still going to play.
18:21
So I've actually
24:48
How, what, what does it mean on both sides of that coin? Um,
24:51
Yeah, so I mean, just from a roster standpoint, they have two open spots right now.
24:55
They do have a commit from Milo Musakic overseas, but until that gets eligible, I'm kind of counting it as an opening.
25:03
It would fill one of those spots.
25:05
There's some talk of could they get Javon Bardwell to reclass a five-star who's committed in 27.
25:10
I think if they add counsel, that would be kind of no longer a discussion.
25:14
And then when you look at the roster, you have a couple point guards on there with Talon Kinney, and Leroy Blyden, who comes over from Toledo.

5 MINS LATER

30:37
Would you want him to, Melvin council, or is it too complicated? So that's the, could you, would you, but then I want to know from you as well, when the dust settles, what do you think actually will happen?
3:56
Is that a landslide pole? like cultural thing where that is how light bulb likes his teams to run or is this again as you were saying much more of a we just got to disguise our quarterback because we're not quite confident in his weapons in the air
4:10
no it's a little bit of both like they've always wanted to be a balanced football team a balanced uh attacking team even with jalen daniels and jason bean they ran the ball a good amount they were running the quarterback they were running option but they've always been um I don't know, able to kind of flip into what they want to do a little bit more.
4:29
You go back to Lance Leipold's time at Buffalo when he was having success.
4:33
They go from having the number one offense in the Mac led by having the number one passing offense with a quarterback and Tyree Jackson who ended up, you know, going off to the NFL and, to after losing him, they were the number one rushing offense in the Mac because they came more of a running team behind Jarrett Patterson and Kevin Marks and some of those running backs.
4:54
So they always want to have the ability to have some of the bread and butter run plays and be a balanced offense both ways.
5:02
But they have kind of shifted their philosophies based on the personnel that they have and trying to fit to that specific personnel.
5:09
So you know, running more options.

8 MINS LATER

13:05
How is the front seven that Kansas is going to throw at us? What are they going to do? I
5:57
Mm-hmm.
5:57
I mean, I mean, if you watch this kid, he can throw some really good passes and initiate.
6:01
And I think that helps you out if you're building the roster around him, that he's still going to get these other players involved.
6:07
Um- So, uh, you know, it, it's just, it's night and day how you view the rest of the roster.
6:12
Certainly, I wish there was a little bit more pop and talent at the center position.
6:16
But, uh, with the way that that market has taken off, Kansas kind of choosing for more of a money ball approach to the center position.
6:23
I really like the Leroy Bliden addition.
9:18
Mm-hmm.
9:55
So did they get their off-season plan because you're expecting them to be back?
10:01
Good segue.
10:02
Yeah.
10:02
Um, and they did.
10:03
They, they received one and, and, you know, you never know what happens on the business side of things, and you don't know for sure who is gonna be on your team probably until, you know, maybe even opening day.
10:14
But, um, you know, those guys, uh, they're, they're still young enough, they're controllable enough.
10:20
Um, you know, and, and I, I know that there's rumors out there.
12:34
What are you trying to see from the guy who's going to take that spot, if it's Chase Burns or if it's somebody else?
