I think you all know that I've always felt the nine most terrifying words in the English language are, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

I got to know the President pretty well.

He was a hell of a nice guy.

He was personable.

He was smart as a whip.

He came in with a very clear view of what he wanted to accomplish.

So as White House staffers, and then as his chairman of the FCC, we really knew what the mission was.
