What's been the reaction from that community to what the president said?
64:11
They are deeply, deeply hurt and disturbed that the president would tell them that the suffering that they've endured would only be recognized if he's happy.
64:27
They know that he and his administration have let them down.
64:31
His first administration let them down.
64:34
His current administration is fighting them in court.
64:38
We had to pass a law to let them even have legal claims.
64:43
And now those legal claims are being held up by just one court.
3:52
Do you think I'm right about that?
3:55
I think you're absolutely right.
3:57
As a matter of fact, we see more instability right now largely because we have this war in the Middle East.
4:06
Nobody knows why we have it or when it's going to end or what's going to happen.
4:10
And we get news every day that's different.
4:14
And that is making our oil markets, you know, very volatile.
4:19
The other thing that we're seeing is that we haven't kept up with the infrastructure that we need to do distributed generation.

15:55
What are the policies that the Thriving Economy Project could help drive that can make all this happen?
23:11
What questions do you want to have answered from Todd Blanch?
23:16
Well, to be clear, I am not a member of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
23:22
I'm a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
23:24
So what we're doing is we're bringing this to light before the senators get to have those questions put forward.
23:34
And we have shared this information with multiple members of the Senate who are on the Judiciary Committee, both Democrats and Republicans.
23:43
Senator Tom Tillis has not been a big fan of either Bondi or Blanche.
23:49
He is from North Carolina, and we're sharing that information with him, as well as with top Democrats.

It seems like we're all just sort of being asked to accept that the president and his family, they're not going to be subject to the things every other taxpayer is subject to.

17:07
Sure
17:07
... um, there, there's a, a, a writer, um, named, uh, Robert Putnam, who, uh, in 2000, he wrote a book called Bowling Alone, and he was thinking about sort of communities in the 20th century, like the rise of them through the middle and then the kind of decline of them.
17:21
And he has this theory about, like, sort of two kinds of social capital.
17:26
He calls it bonding social capital and bridging social capital, and bonding social capital is where people are kind of naturally just drawn together, almost like organically.
17:38
Like, they almost can't help it.
17:39
They, they, they come together.
17:41
And bridging social capital is something that I actually talk and write about a lot, where you're trying to build communities very deliberately by connecting people who wouldn't normally know each other. But Rush fans are actually my example in my book, uh, in my most recent book, of the, a bonding social capital.

For sure
10:45
[chuckles] What did you think? I mean, there wasn't quite an answer to your question, it was more of an ad hominem attack.
10:52
Well, that's what- that's her playbook, you know? Um, that was not a surprise.
10:56
Um, we were prepared for all of that.
10:59
The question is, how do you respond to it in the moment? Um, you know, with the Republican, she answered respectfully, uh, yes or no questions.
11:08
Um, and then with the Democrats, she played these ridiculous games.
11:12
And that's, that's not just a disservice to the committee hearing, it's a disservice to the American public.
11:18
We were asking very legitimate questions.
12:37
Mm.
