How do we put a digital detox in place? Yeah.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
I find that very hard too because in the role that I'm in, having emails, making sure I'm available during work hours is really important.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
So it's about being mindful, maybe not having the phone or device in the bedroom when you go to bed or having it away from the bed so you can't just roll over in the morning and pick it up.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
Making sure that you're aware of the time around you as well so that you're not just getting lost in a game or in scrolling onto social media.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
Because the other thing that as adults, we influence what our children see and do.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
So if they see us constantly on devices, then that seems to be okay because it's, you know, do as I do type things.

When it comes to people in that space, why do they often put themselves last?

Debbie ChildsGUEST
Carers often do because more often they're supporting people long before the service has become involved and not identifying themselves as in that caring role.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
So, and, you know, burnout, carer burnout can lead to for carers financial stress if they're working and having to give up a role they can be socially isolated because they're not able to get out and have that usual interaction and and then you know it increases pressure on health services because not only is the person they're caring for needing support but the carers needing support when they reach that crisis and burnout point

What lessons did you learn and what sort of things can people find in the book?

Debbie ChildsGUEST
So I started writing a blog every week and trying different health care practices.

Debbie ChildsGUEST
So from limiting negative news consumption to mindful eating, setting healthy boundaries.
