What was your pathway to becoming a club chaplain?

I've supported Portsmouth football men's for quite some time and then we actually moved to Portsmouth with my husband's job and so we got involved with a prayer group and we were praying for the club as a whole and then lockdown happened so instead of meeting in person up at the club we started praying online and as part of that it meant that we could meet people from all over the country including chaplains from other football clubs because we were um praying for football as an industry and all along while that was happening so we were praying weekly um we um there was somebody who was trying to get a women's chaplain into the women's football club and and then that happened around christmas 2020 they the club said yes they would like somebody so I was asked if I would be interested.

So I prayed a bit about it and said, yes, I would.

And then I had some training through Sports Chaplaincy UK.

And then I was introduced to the club in about March 21.

So I started just as they were coming out of lockdown.

It is such a privilege to be to be a chaplain because It's a volunteer role.

Would that be one of your standout moments then for in a positive way from your time with them so far?
