So before we split this into autism and Alzheimer's, can you walk us through the basic architecture of the brain in the sense that the gray matter, the white matter, synapses, myelin, and where do plasmalogens fit into it? Before we define plasmalogens, where do they fit into all of this?
2:57
Certainly.
2:58
So the thing is, the brain itself is just, if you're not intimidated or awestruck by the human brain itself, you really aren't paying attention to it.
3:08
And we have not even scratched the surface of the understanding of it.
3:11
And quite frankly, we probably never will.
3:13
The human brain is really a quantum mechanical simulation.
3:18
And if you think about, if you go back to quantum mechanics and Richard Feynman, the two slit experiment of a photon, whether it's a wave or particle, basically you have to think about how do you make a thought How do you choose to have a chicken salad or a burger for lunch? We take this stuff for granted, but the ability of the human brain to simulate this creation out of nothingness of a thought is something we don't really pay enough attention to.

And for someone who's hearing this word for the first time, so can you tell us what plasmalogens are and why are they different from what you talked about cholesterol, phosphatidylcholine, even DHA or any other lipids that people may have already known?
