And you can give me the, you can give me the answer, you can tell me to shut up, but how is that kinda looking back to the start of your career as a starting quarterback?

Oh, I mean, honestly, you know, I, I, I think I try and make it known as best I can.

Obviously, this is, this is a 45-man team.

Um, you know, and it's, it, it does go down as Davis Allxander, but it's more about the Montreal Alouettes and, uh, just the culture that we brought.

But, uh, you know, to not give you a vanilla answer, I do think it's, I honestly do think it's one of the coolest things in the world.

Um, just, uh, just kind of the whole story about, you know, me coming up through the CFL and, you know, sitting behind some of the greats of this, of this game, and currently, you know, still in our league, you know, behind Trevor and Cody and VA, you know, the stats that they're putting up.

And just, just being able to learn everything from them, um, and then kinda, kinda, you know, play the game with my skill set and take the things that they can do and apply it to my game and see what works.

Just what is it about the way that he senses the middle of the field that really lends yourself to having a really good connection with him?

Yeah, I mean, he, I think that guy, he's like a little Tasmanian devil.

Like, when he sees green grass, he just, his, his, his eyes light up and you just see how happy he gets, and he know, he knows the football's coming.

Um, but, uh, we watch a, we watch a ton of film together.

Um, he kinda knows, uh, you know, we live together, so, uh, we're always watching games.

Um- And he just knows if he gets to a certain spot, uh, the ball's probably gonna get there.

Uh, and he's, he's, he's small, but he is...

Talk a bit about that, the next man up mentality for the depth chart for the defense.

I mean, when you signed and knew you'd have to be backup for a couple of years, you were sort of ready to do that, right? You didn't think you'd start right off the bat.

No, I did not.

I did not think I would start again.

I just was so thankful for the opportunity because when I came here, it was Vernon Adams was the starter, Trevor Harris, and Dominic Davis, And all three of those guys, excuse me.

I don't even remember those names.

Okay.

All three of those guys were starting quarterbacks the year before.

So for the time you've now spent in Montreal, it's been a couple years you've been here, you get to know the city, you get to meet any people?

Uh, what can you tell us about some of the new guys and maybe trying to, uh, develop some chemistr- uh, chemistry with, uh, Jarrett Stearns?

Yeah, exactly, right? So, uh, you know, you lose A-Mack, you lose Rambo.

Um, but, you know, luckily we got a guy who, who kind of was stored on the, stored on the counter for us in Alexander Hollins, and, you know, when he got his opportunities last year, he was amazing for us.

Uh, I think he had over 100 yards in that Winnipeg game.

Um, so he, he's looked phenomenol- phenomenal in camp.Um, and then obviously bringing over Stearns from Winnipeg.

You know, he was out with us in Arizona, so we got to see him back in March and kind of got to see what we're to expect.

And, uh, he's been phenomenal in camp.

... touch down here in Montreal, are you starting to feel like now this is home number two?

... as a quarterback to play through that?

Well, I [laughs] it was my only chance of getting to play at the next level, I felt.

Um, if I, you know, I kept playing, you know, originally we looked at possibly a gray shirt, uh, but bec- back in...

Nowadays it probably would've worked, but when I was playing in two- I think it was 2021, um, because that was the fourth game of the year, I was no longer, or fifth game of the year, I was no longer eligible for a gray shirt.

So, um, they basically told, they called me in, asked if I had e- ever thought about coaching.

Totally threw me off.

I was like, "What are you talking about?" Um, they're like, "Well, uh, the MRI's not great.

Have you gone into that aspect yet? Is that part of the idea, to focus more on your teammates?
