Like, obviously homelessness, being unhoused, having an addiction is not a crime in and of itself.

But if you do things that are criminal and happen to be unhoused or happen to have a substance abuse issue, like a burglary or breaking into cars or something of that ef- effect.

What I hear from the community is, yes, we have compassion, but compassion with accountability, where we will go out there and, you know, whether it be the district manager, the officers, uh, school resource officers for that matter.

We talk to our partners, whether it be Compass, YARD, CTVIP, Project Longevity, all of our partners, 'cause we are a police department of partnerships, right?
