David WohlGUEST
So I think people have heard about mRNA vaccines because the first mRNA vaccines that became available for us were the COVID shots.

David WohlGUEST
And the only way we could have gotten COVID shots as quickly and as responsive to the variants that have been circulating is with something like mRNA technology, which allows for very quickly putting, you know, the Lego pieces together to construct, you know, a vaccine designed against what you're hoping to protect against.

David WohlGUEST
And so it's a rapid process, it allows you to design this quickly, rather than painstakingly through somewhat archaic measures that involves remarkable, you'd be surprised, you know, remarkable things like injecting eggs, you know, like so and letting incubate in an egg.

David WohlGUEST
So, you know, those tried and true, but they are very old and they're not responsive, especially when viruses are emerging.

David WohlGUEST
Well, the same thing, your immune system protects you not only from germs, but it protects you from cells that go haywire.

Rob SchofieldHOST
Maybe it's obvious, maybe not to everyone, that it would seem anyway that advances like this just once again make the case that we need more research, more funding from the federal government for these kinds of breakthrough research initiatives, rather than the sort of pump the brakes that we've seen from our leaders

So now we're gonna turn it over to you to bring this material to the front for us.

David WohlGUEST
Well, I think this has been really helpful, and we've, we've seen the biomedical leaps that allowed us to emerge, I think, from the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic, uh, to now.

David WohlGUEST
Uh, and so we're gonna talk about the further evolution of the advances that we've had seen previously and talk about novel therapeutics i- in different situations, and we've already highlighted that a little bit.

David WohlGUEST
We've talked about PrEP, and again, right now PrEP is pretty limited to the most, most, most at-risk people.

And David, you presented the data, so I don't wanna steal your thunder, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.
