I started by asking David first to briefly explain why calendar farming exists and why the dates must be respected despite the challenges farms have had to deal with in the last 10 to 12 weeks.

The calendar farming bit, you know, it's every farmer's peeve, I think, especially in the year that has a good back end.

Where that's born out of is the time that's required to take up the nutrients before they're lost from the roots on.

And that's what it's all about.

It's not about how trafficable the soils are.

whether you could drive a juggernaut over it or a heavy lime spreader or whatever without putting a tyre mark in it.

That's not what it's about.

Are we going to apply that on top of area that has gotten nitrogen as well? And is it safe to do that in terms of that it's a slower release? Maybe there is a little bit of it more freely available and then there's more of it there that might feed for a little longer into the winter period.

Yeah.

Uh, yeah, so, uh, let me tackle that.

So, um, this entire year is an excuse for us to celebrate, so we're having multiple events and celebrations and stuff.

And, and because, and it's been mentioned that, that a big part of what we do is cultural.

We believe that, that cultural expression is intrinsically intertwined with political action.

That's just, like, a, a thing that, that, that we stand by.

Um, the big thing we're doing is on June 11th, which is coming up soon, June 11th, 2026, at Trinity St. Paul United Church in Toronto at Lawrence Spadina, we're having this pretty massive celebratory event featuring the great Naomi Klein in conversation with Professor Deborah Cohen.

Do you have an idea of its worth, or who'd want it enough to steal it in broad daylight?

I'm afraid I don't.

As far as its value is concerned, we would consider it priceless.

But Patricia would be the one to speak with about affixing a dollar amount.
