Don't avoid that person because there's something else that must be done.

done.This gospel should sting all of our consciences.

Who is my neighbor? Now it's very interesting that even as the listeners that Jesus is engaging and at the end of the parable, he says, who was neighbor to this man? They can't even acknowledge that it was a Samaritan.

They don't say like we would, oh, it was the Good Samaritan, because we've heard this a million times.

They couldn't say it was the Samaritan, not the priest, not the Levite.

They simply say the one who treated him with mercy.

The Samaritans worshipped differently than the Jews in Jerusalem.

The priests and the deacons just had a beautiful moment together as brothers in ordained ministry with Sister Briege renewing our priestly ordination, not gathering as the spiritual advisors of Magnificat, but gathering as brothers in ordination and inviting the Lord to renew and stir up in us the graces, uh, of our ordination, and the graces and the healing that we need.
