As a 15-year-old, you were involved in the campaign?

Yeah.

The story I'll tell you, when I was 15, I really admired John Chafee.

I didn't follow politics that much.

So I'd read in the Providence Journal when it was a real newspaper, they printed that he was going to be appearing at his Cranston headquarters the next day, and I live right on the Cranston line.

So I rode my bicycle down, and I'm sitting on the bike outside his headquarters on Rolfe Street, and one of the people there, Jim Taft, who I had no idea who he was.

I mean, at the time, he was just a councilman.

He's really he's really bothered by it.
