Is this a message to Washington? Is this a message to Israel, maybe to both?

It certainly seems like it.

And it feels like Iran is basically daring President Trump to escalate this war because they know he does not want to.

And we go through these cycles where Trump does some airstrikes, then he calls for a ceasefire, then he tells the American public that Iran really wants a ceasefire, that they desperately want one.

And then we see something like this where they do a surprise ballistic missile attack that seems to show they don't want a peace process.

And also notable is that they still have ballistic missiles.

They were able to use these, even though at times the administration and the Secretary of Defense have said that their ballistic missile program has been completely destroyed.

But there's no sustained strategy from this Trump administration on what to do to Iran.

Yes, I happen to agree with you.

It's a meandering strategy.

Try this one day, then try something else the next day.

Constantly.

bombarding us with information about how close they are to a deal, and yet the deal seems ephemeral, unreachable for some reason.

And then we go through a cycle again.
