How have you learned to recognize those little nudges from God as well?
12:16
You know, in John, Jesus talks about the sheep will, will know the voice of the shepherd and follow him.
12:22
I love the premise of your podcast here, because we have to pay attention to the ways that God works in our lives, and sometimes it's a big comeback from death kind of moment or a big miraculous thing happens, but in most cases, there are these hundreds of tiny little miracles happening all around us.
12:40
And, and I would argue that there are hundreds of miracles happening in our lives daily that we don't even recognize.
12:46
We don't even pay attention to them.
12:48
Like, I just drive down the road in my car, and I don't know the ways that God is intervening in my life, 'cause I'm just driving along, singing a song and oblivious to the, the, the car or the deer or the an- like, whatever it might be that God has just kind of helped me, protected me from.
13:05
And that happens in Burma all the time, where there are these, these little miracles, these small moments, and I have just kind of trained my ear to hear the shepherd's voice, and I've trained my heart to f- to just be sensitive to those nudges, where I don't wanna do something, I don't wanna go somewhere, I don't wanna get out of the hole, and I know that nudge, the little nudge that says, "Go.
14:05
So can you tell a story about one of those times where you felt one of those nudges, and what happened?
12:33
Are you, you know, is somebody really willing to go out and make that sacrifice? And I think to do it on a worldwide scale is definitely a calling.
12:45
I love, thanks for your answers.
12:47
I really appreciate that.
12:48
And I, to answer Kyle, your question, your question about discovering God when I was in the army.
12:56
So I, I grew up, my, my, my mom would drag me to church every Sunday when I was little.
13:02
And I am the middle of, I have an older brother and a younger brother and we would sit in the pew and we would just fight with each other and elbow each other and like be bratty little boys basically.
13:14
But by the time when I was like 17, 18, I wanted to be a professional ice hockey player.

And to hear you say that makes, makes me know that no matter where you're at, you're never going to feel prepared enough and you got to put all your faith in Christ.

Who are these people and what motivates that position?
2:11
There's a segment of these people who are descendants of the early people who were sent from France for the penal colony and then subsequent migrants from France.
2:23
They've lived a position of privilege in this sort of settler colony, although it's still part of France.
2:30
And they just want this place to be part of France.
2:34
And because the French government also want to hold onto this land, they have been backing the settler population who have been raised on a pretty awful diet of racism.
2:46
And now they're just became basically a big mix of all of these different ethnic groups now that have come from all over.
2:54
Actually, in recent years, there's been more of the non-Canuck people who have come over to the side of independence as well.
3:30
Remind us what triggered that violence.
