To what extent are these likely to sway the markets?
11:20
It's going to get a lot of headlines and a lot of attention, but whether it's actually going to go and be meaningful for the market is another thing coming.
11:27
We're not really certain exactly how it's going to go and flip Congress.
11:29
There is a lot of ideas here about potentially we could go and see a blue wave come through.
11:33
It's very, very tight.
11:35
And so how the cookie crumbles when it comes to that result, look, If you get a Democratic clean sweep of Congress, maybe at the margin that might be perceived to be a negative for the US market, maybe for the US dollar.
11:46
If you go and get the Republicans outperforming relative to what the current polling is, that might go into the opposite outcome there.
12:17
What is your take on the sector? Because we saw the US markets tank on Friday night after a string of tech earnings we saw last week.

For more, I spoke with David Scutt, Senior Market Analyst at StoneX.
1:31
Yeah, obviously, Westpac's Q3 update coming through.
1:34
There wasn't any great gremlins when it came to statutory net profit or the margin side of the equation.
1:40
But it was really the update that it provided on the housing market, particularly mortgage demand, that really has spooked the market.
1:48
So it fell quite sharply and it's dragged those other big lenders down as well.
1:53
Of course, all eyes now after today's update is what happens with CBA on Wednesday.
1:58
Biggest bank.
2:42
And the share price reaction from the other banks today, 2% or more, does that surprise you, the magnitude of the response? What's happening there?

31:10
What are the expectations here, do you think?
31:13
I'll start off by saying that Tesla, unless you're a Tesla shareholder, probably isn't going to be the main impact.
31:19
It's going to be what's happened to Google, Alphabet in particular.
31:23
So keep a close eye on what it says about Google Cloud because that's its AI puppy.
31:28
And then focus on what it says about its potential AI returns because it has been issuing so much debt, so much equity.
31:35
We're talking at the moment, I don't know, this year alone, 80 billion US in equities being raised, a similar amount when it comes to debt.
31:42
at some point, Market analysts, investors, traders are going to demand to see returns on that investment.
32:10
What do you make of that? All eyes on the oil price at the moment.
