I started as most people would, as a surfer when I was in my early 20s.

Um, I, I came from a town which was away from the coast, so when I did actually come to live by the coast, I, I was like being on holiday every day.

So whenever I could, I started to surf.

I then started, um, what became the world's biggest beach festival called Paddle Around the Pier Beach Festival for, and I ran that for about 20 years.

Um, and that had on average around 50,000 people attending that.
