Patrick PowersHOST
Well, Dr. David, how would you say that that ties in any way with how PCOS would present itself? Are you hearing any commonality there?

David RainosekGUEST
Yes, and if you'll allow me, I'll kind of quickly describe the syndrome in humans, and then I think you're going to see the corollaries.

David RainosekGUEST
And I should point out that as of a week ago, The Lancet, which is one of the premier medical journals for human medicine, published a big article on PCOS, renaming it PMOS, to emphasize that you don't have to see cysts on ultrasound.

David RainosekGUEST
And we're missing a lot of diagnoses by emphasizing the polycystic piece of this, that really it's the metabolic syndrome that's the problem, the hormone imbalance.

David RainosekGUEST
But there's some criteria from maybe 20 years ago called the Rotterdam criteria to diagnose this condition, which I'm going to try to call PMOS now, but I may mess up here.

David RainosekGUEST
But it's, you know, not regular ovulatory cycles, so subfertility, if not total infertility.
