Uh, but, uh, i- it, I just realized myself, looking it over after it was published, that it's a more serious book than, than I realized I was writing, because I take up a lot of those issues you're just talking about in the writing and in action, uh, in the Army.

You know, defying, uh, uh, officers and so on, because, uh, I thought they were being unjust in the abstract, not just toward me.

I didn't worry about what they did to me.

I was just worried about, uh, uh, so many indications of people i- in the Army and, and the people who've come into the Army with me, uh, violating so many fundamental rights and, and beliefs.
