Jill PestanaHOST
Can you describe about how it made that decision for those materials and what they were?

David HowellGUEST
So like I said, we had done some earlier work in the 90s on lithium ion batteries and basically coming from the consumer electronics where they were using lithium cobalt oxide.

David HowellGUEST
We recognized that for electrification, the lithium cobalt oxide had to be improved.

David HowellGUEST
And number one, the cost improvement was essential, but also the cycle life and the safety needed to be improved of the material.

David HowellGUEST
In the 90s, we were working the NCA material, the nickel cobalt aluminum, and it looked very attractive in terms of performance, cycle life, and the potential to reduce the cost.
