Anita BlantonHOST
What are the primary risks that you're assessing? For instance, is it algorithmic bias that gets brought up a lot of times when people talk about AI or even reliability issues?

David GlocknerGUEST
And to the extent that you're relying on AI to make decisions, particularly as a governmental body, you need to be very careful that those decisions are at least as good as the human decisions and that they don't reflect biases that are a product of the material that the models were trained with.

David GlocknerGUEST
And while AI tools have come a long way, they still can be unreliable, and the decision-making processes can be opaque.

David GlocknerGUEST
So if we're using AI, what are we doing to ensure that we've got careful controls and humans who are ultimately responsible for the decisions that people expect from their government?

Do you agree with Deborah Witzberg's assessment of Mayor Johnson and his administration? How has it been for you so far?
D

So I would say that so far, my relationship with the mayor's office has been constructive and positive.

I mean, we're not calling each other up all the time and, and bouncing ideas and, and thoughts off each other.

But I think it's important that, that my office have constructive relationships across the city.

In part, you know, we're-- w-we investigate, we do audits, but our real power and, and the way we really can impact the city is when departments and, and leaders in the city adopt our recommendations.
