That has got me curious.
0:49
And I hope it has sparked curiosity in the listeners as well, because I was thinking about it over the weekend.
0:55
And this is something that I guess all of us will deal with in life and in our walk with God daily.
1:01
I think this has just been something that I've recently gone through and probably not just recently, but it's something that we will all go through in our faith.
1:11
And I think we can often look at doubt as the enemy of faith or something that doesn't tie well with faith.
1:20
But really just introspectively looking towards that word doubt, it's literally just saying, It's having those questions in our faith.
1:30
It's not saying I'm unbelieving.
MorroHOST
3:08
That's
24:59
So what has your center learned about the inventory needs of housing in California?
25:07
Yeah, well, we've looked at the impact of how this short supply has made it really difficult for people to enter a home ownership.
25:16
In California, the age at which the population is majority homeowner is actually 49 years old.
25:25
In the rest of the country, that's 36 years.
25:27
So we have a huge imbalance in the state.
25:30
And one of the things that I think is kind of the reason why this happens is because we just don't have the number of homes that the people who would like to move out of their larger homes into smaller homes, we just don't have that kind of inventory for them to move into.
25:47
And so that has a cascading effect down that ladder of homeownership, right? There's no more starter homes or starter homes are increasingly out of reach.
26:42
So are people choosing not to have bigger families and therefore needing bigger houses? Or are they not having families because they can't get the house? You know what I mean? In your analysis, I mean, which one is driving it?
35:41
So what has your center learned about the inventory needs of housing in California?
35:48
Yeah, well, we've looked at the impact of how this short supply has made it really difficult for people to enter a home ownership in California.
35:59
Um, the, the age at which the population is majority homeowner is actually 49 years old, uh, in the rest of the country, that's 36 years.
36:08
So we've, uh, we have a huge imbalance in the state.
36:12
And, um, one of the things that I think is, um, kind of the, the reason why this happens.
36:18
is because we just don't have the number of homes that the people who would like to move out of their larger homes into small homes, we just don't have that kind of inventory for them to move into.
36:28
And so that has a cascading effect down that ladder of homeownership, right? There's no more starter homes or starter homes are increasingly out of reach.
37:24
So are people choosing not to have bigger families and therefore needing bigger houses, or are they not having families because they can't get the house? You know what I mean? In your analysis, I mean, which one is driving it?
42:47
What are you looking for before, like, putting your name behind a product? Does it definitely have to be something you've used and you're like, I believe in this?
42:55
100%.
42:56
Yeah.
42:56
100%.
42:58
Um, and people will come to me and ask me about that kind of stuff.
43:01
Like, how do I, how do you approach that? Like, I, I really want to get with someone and like get some good discounts or get some free stuff.
43:06
It's like, okay, you've, you've already got the wrong mindset right then and there already got the wrong mindset right then and there.
45:47
Passionate.
22:51
I think that's what it's all about, isn't it, David? Just in terms of having this broad range of styles at play.
22:58
Yeah, that's what I've enjoyed most.
23:00
the most is even with teams that you would feel are similar profiles, there's differences in how they approach.
23:09
Like, for example, one of the ones that I've enjoyed watching a lot is Germany and how they play, especially when they're in possession, when they're building up, they use a back line of three, but they're very narrow.
23:25
And one of the things that, one of the patterns and things that I've noticed that I like the most that is a little bit unique is they, they provoke the front line with the center backs.
23:39
And when they do, when the, the opposition front line steps, they play back to one of the other, uh, backline players.
23:48
And then they try to play through once they've created a gap in, in the, in the opposition front line.

38:13
I mean, David, obviously, as someone that lives over here, I mean, first and foremost, what are your thoughts on hydration breaks? And secondly, of all, who's using them as best possible?
22:45
What's been so challenging about it?
22:47
Well, you're right.
22:48
So actually, the Postal Service has not signed any agreements below the federal level since that legislation went into effect.
22:55
That said, we spoke to a number of states for this project, and they showed a lot of interest in exploring opportunities with the Postal Service.
23:04
And they showed interest actually in a handful of areas.
23:07
So for example, identity services.
23:10
To give you an example there, in a lot of states, before essential workers like teachers or nurses can begin work, they have to submit fingerprints and have their identities verified.
24:37
What are the biggest obstacles in getting the Postal Service to approach this sort of institutionally?
2:15
What's been so challenging about it?
2:17
Well, you're right.
2:18
So actually the Postal Service has not signed any agreements below the federal level since that legislation went into effect.
2:26
That said, we spoke to a number of states for this project and they showed a lot of interest in exploring opportunities with the Postal Service.
2:34
And they showed interest actually in a handful of areas.
2:37
So for example, identity services.
2:40
To give you an example there, in a lot of states, before essential workers like teachers or nurses can begin work, they have to submit fingerprints and have their identities verified.
4:07
What are the biggest obstacles in getting the Postal Service to approach this sort of institutionally?
4:21
5:08
Yucatan-halvøen i Mexico.
5:11

9:22
Has the expectation or desire to own housing, has it shifted at all?
9:30
Not really.
9:31
I think by and large, uh, most people do aspire to homeownership.
9:37
I think the difference is there has been a bit of a shift in, shift in where, uh, they have opportunities for homeownership.
9:43
So for a long time, we've only been building kind of, um, more suburban, uh, single-family detached style housing, and those houses have become larger and larger as years have, have gone on.
9:53
And so we've really stopped building smaller starter homes or condos or townhomes.
9:58
And so there's just not as many opportunities to buy a new product that is kind of, you know, small and fits their, um, you know, their, their needs at the moment.

27 MINS LATER

36:40
How well does that work with the understanding that, you know, every city, every community is different?
