How does that help you move GeoMVA through development more efficiently?

Again, another good question.

EMA, the European Medicines Agency, as you probably know, the European equivalent to the US FDA, they granted us an expedited pathway for this.

Why did they do that? They did that for several reasons.

One was, or one is rather, that the MVA that we have and the MVA that is the basis of Bavarian Nordics product, which generically is known as MVA-BN.

We refer to ours as GEO for Geovac-MVA.

But our MVA and their MVA were derived many years ago from the same parental cell line.

How does that change the routes of markets and the opportunity for Geovax?

What's the biggest technical breakthrough that gave you the confidence to do that?

It's getting an understanding of how to control the impurities that comes through with the leach from phosphogypsum.

In particular, the fluorine, which is present in the phosphogypsum sacs.

We had a whole weak acid leach circuit and a recovery of fluorine circuit that was up front there to do that before we went into the main rare earth leach.

And we established that we can in fact control the fluorine simply by adding silica and complexing fluorine with silica so that it doesn't affect the rare earths in the leach.

So we've been able to eliminate a huge part of the process there.

And then on top of that, we've introduced continuous iron exchange for the primary recovery of the rare earths from the leach solution.

What have been the biggest technical challenges in making that work at commercial scale?

Really quick, did you say they're doing this in Denmark?

In Denmark.

So they manufacture all of this on the benefit.

Their largest customer is the U.S. government.

And yet here's a company in Smyrna, Georgia, that now has obtained the rights from the U.S. NIH.

We did that in 2022.

We then negotiated for two years with the EMA to be able to have an accelerated pathway to expand because there's a critical need.

Yeah, if all goes well, you'll actually retire in a few years.
