What do they need to know that's different now?

Again, in some ways, this is a harder question to answer because it's so very much dependent upon the school.

Personally, I would be very concerned if the school you're teaching in has not reviewed and revised their guidance.

I can't personally see how you could continue with the old guidance because of some of the differences and emphasis that are there.

It obviously depends upon the school, really.

I would have expected schools already to have had very open and obvious parental consultations upon their RSE policy, which also includes access to sample lesson resources.

With regard to the new guidance, it's very clear that schools must proactively engage and consult parents.

So just on that note then, what should a Christian teacher, if they feel that there is a lesson or resource they've been asked to use that is still going down the line of presenting contested views as established facts?
