Yeah, so the big problem we've got, two sides of the same coin.

In some parts of southern Australia, there's a very pronounced drying trend and there's been a little bit of rain and a couple of heat waves and we will switch into you know quite extreme drought conditions and elsewhere there's been lots and lots of rain for years and there's a super abundance of fuel very dense regrowth particularly in areas that have been burned and Again, some very intense heat waves could turn that into a powder keg.

So the big question is exactly how the summer will play out.

We know it's going to be hot, but will it be a big heat wave, a couple of heat waves? Will there be some rain that dampens things off? We just don't know that.

And so that means you've got to have this situational awareness.

You've got to be vigilant because the landscapes we're in can switch from being safe to very dangerous very quickly.

David, at the aggregate level, what do we need to be doing differently as a country when it comes to thinking about fire seasons?

Well,

absolutely.

And the UK, Norway, right up into, in fact, Greenland, Siberia.

I mean, the whole thing is going off.

But 10 years ago, we didn't have that strength of evidence.

And now we do have the strength of evidence.

So to a certain degree, What is motivating me for my research now is, well, I don't want to say, well, clever me, I was right.

They must be bad for the health.

Yeah.

Yeah, when that really hit home was for me.

And so within the community, especially early on, it was pay your dues, be miserable for two years, building your practice, and then you can live your EOS life.

And the big aha moment for me, I had Mike Coates as a coach, which just couldn't say enough good things about him.

And I got away from that do, have, be kind of a concept.

So let's do a whole bunch of stuff.
