So how do you balance the needs of drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, um, transit users and neighborhoods when making recommendations?
18:49
Yeah, trying to balance the needs of all those users is a tricky one.
18:53
We'd want to look at what route that road has access to.
18:59
So do we want to use and what's our intended use for that roadway? Is that roadway, say, an arterial road or a collector road where we just want to complement the movement of traffic and have traffic moving unimpeded? And when you encounter a situation like that, you really want to create a separation between bikes and pedestrians, more vulnerable road users.
19:23
And then in other situations, you could identify a roadway that is more conducive for active users.
19:30
So you'd want to say limit the amount of through traffic or just lessen the speed and create some sort of a barrier for the octave users and make it more conducive and friendly for the active users.
21:33
Can you explain a bit more about this?
21:36
Yeah, absolutely.
