And as you got more acquainted with one another and closer as time went on, was it just you against the folks the whole time, or did that sort of come full circle whereby the folks, they were more humane in their sort of behaviour towards you both?

You know, I would like to say that they became more humane.

There were times, there were moments when my father was absolutely wonderful to us, when he would lower his voice and speak to us in this very intimate way and get us to do whatever he wanted us to do.

That primarily, you alluded to this, was his pressure for us to become doctors.

And this wasn't no cute Jewish joke where mama wants the boys to be doctors.

This was an obsessive, overbearing desire of our father to basically live out his failed dream for him.

He had gone to medical school at age 18, 19, uh... probably the smartest guy i've ever met and uh... he'd gone to medical school at the university of arkansas and in those days there were strict jewish quotas and i think one of the one of the letters of recommendation from his um... chemistry professor which uh... we dug up we we got all of his records uh... his academic records and one of his recommendations to give you a flavor of the time in arkansas in the thirties said uh...

So I was a legacy AT&T family member, and I worked at AT&T for the first 13 and a half years of my career, and I thought I was gonna retire at AT&T, I was gonna stay there forever, and ultimately I was kind of poached away to another client, or a, it was a client of mine at the time.

And they were a small company, maybe a couple hundred employees, uh, a lot, a kind of a startup feel, and being able to leave tenure and hypo and all of the different trajectories that I had kind of lined up over 13 years of networking, and just essentially starting fresh and joining a company that I didn't really know anyone except maybe one or two people at, uh, it, it was, it was a lot.

But growing up in Canada, the healthy people in Canada had incredible peace of mind.

We never thought about health care.

And we don't have very good health care in Canada.
