Once you both were working in television, so those early years of your career, what were kind of the pivotal moments for you that really shaped you both as producers?

I think for me, when I s-started in television, I was working on a show called Our House many years, years ago, and it's a little lifestyle television.

And the producers who were on it, who, there was s-six producers and I was the sixth producer, five other producers, all females, all come from research into producing.

And the way that show worked was you'd get a research, you know, uh, document, and then you would create your story out of that and away you go.
8:12
Now, the five females, who were very good at what they did, were, were very adept at doing that because that's what they'd done, and it was c-completely alien to me, and I, and I really, really struggled for the first, you know, few months.
8:25
And then the turning point for me was I went, "Hang on a minute.
8:29
I, I know how to edit and I know how to direct and I know how to storyboard.

And the creative partnership behind Australia's reality success story, The Block, David Barber and Julian Cress.

This was an idea that could not be piloted.

You had to go out and buy the damn building to make the show.
