There's something about the revolver, I think, that a lot of people may not have really a grasp of.

These modern revolvers being made now are better than they've ever been.

Well, I was talking about this with Helen Gottlieb this morning.

And we're sitting here scratching our heads wondering just what's going on with this.

Here's a guy who's apparently he wasn't speeding.

Apparently there was nothing defective about the car.

I have been involved, shall we say, from an observer's standpoint in a fair number of traffic stops.

when I used to ride with sheriff's deputies all the time up here early in my career, because I was trying to figure out exactly what goes on out there on the road.

It's true.

If I'm not mistaken, I was one of the first journalists and quite possibly the first journalist, firearms journalist, to reach out to the Grand Rapids mayor's office and the city council.

And initially, I got a call back from a spokesman who said that the mayor was not interested in talking and he didn't want a grand interview.

And at that point, I just decided, well, I'm going to write the story without him, whether he likes it or not.

And a few hours later, I got a text message from this same spokesman guy who said, stand by, the mayor is going to come out with a remark in a little bit.

And about, oh, I don't know, 15, 20 minutes later, I got a text message saying, And then an email from the mayor's office with this statement.

Who does this guy think he is?

Mm-hmm.

They came up with the plans for the cartridge, which had a case length, I think it was the same as the .44, and all you had to do really is adjust the bore size and the chamber size of the revolvers that held the .44, and you'd have a .41 Magnum.

What happened then, the next year, Keith and another guy named Charlie Shedd were on their way to go on a... bear hunt, a polar bear hunt up in Alaska someplace.

The guns showed up right when they were about ready to leave.

They took the guns along with a bunch of ammunition, sighted the guns, went up, got their polar bears, and then they started shooting caribou with it.

And from there, the the 41 Magnum really became much more than what it was intended for, I think.

Beyond law enforcement, it has become really a gem among, well, let's see, long-range silhouette shooters, handgun hunters.

The holster makers are saying they're actually making more holsters for revolvers than they ever have.

And then we'll end Minnesota, but I want to hear what you have to say.

Okay, well, I think it's pretty well established that Janine Pirro is a dog nuts pro-gun person.

She was one of the victims some years ago, and I even wrote about this.

of a newspaper article that identified a whole bunch of people with gun permits in the area where she lived.

And I think she was rightfully PO'd about that.

Now, regarding what she said about somebody bringing a gun into the District of Columbia, they're going to get arrested.

I played a little devil's advocate yesterday on social media when I spotted that because, frankly, what she said was kind of dumb.

Dave, what do we do? If we live in a place like this right now, what's your advice?

Well, you know, we're certainly going to find out when we see the shot show, because all these new models are going to be officially introduced over in Vegas.

And, you know, it's kind of hard – to forecast what's going to be popular with the shooting and gun-owning public from year to year.

Remember a couple of years ago, the Creedmoor became the word of the day.

If it had anything to do with Creedmoor, whether 6mm, 6.5, you name it.

Everybody wanted one.

They were scrambling to get that.
